You didn't have this problem before?

Anyway, please rename the "audio" subfolder inside Panzer Corps main folder to "_audio".
Try it this way. There might be an issue with audio part of your system and Panzer Corps.
Report back, please.

Go to you Add/Remove programs in Control Panel.
See if Panzer Corps is installed.
If it is Uninstall.
Install the game from CD again.
Report back.

Working fine.....

Hi everyone!

I have a similar problem. Everything worked well and i have been playing PC since its release. Now i tried to install a custom campaign. After installing, i could not move my units anymore, i could not do anything at all except scrolling over the map. Fortunately i had made a backup before but it didn't help.
So i uninstalled PC via control panel and reinstalled it. No change???
I renamed the audio folder as explained in this thread and then it worked again...without audio of course.
How can this happen? The custom campaign files didn't include any files of the audio folder. That folder was not changed at all???

I am clueless

partially solved:

I could trace down the problem to the briefing sound files.
Whenever I start a scenario or campaign the issue occurs.
When I load a saved game the issue doesn't occur.
So I deactivated the briefing sound files by renaming the "voice" folder in the audio folder. Now the issue doesn't occur anymore.

I still ask myself how this problem could show up all of a sudden!
I guess its not a game problem, but something about some sound engine of my laptop...

Sorry I've been away this weekend, and only now I was able to look at this thread.

You're right, wuttke78, the issue lies on your system. Panzer Corps uses MCI as the API for controlling audio.
And somehow this is broken on your system. Usually it's a software that when installing codecs/filters breaks it. Codec packs are most of times the culprit.
However we've already been successful in helping solving the issue in some users systems.
Maybe we could give it a try if you are interested.
For that, just open a thread with your DxDiag.
