I have created a quick guide to these features to complement the one in the Editor manual. Please add ideas or questions or corrections in this thread and I will update the document. I have left it in .doc format so you can edit it yourself if preferred.

Cheers

Very nicely done.

I only have two questions and/or suggestions to address them in your document.

1) Do hexes for a zone need to be adjacent?
2) And the other one as per a recent post of mine - viewtopic.php?t=26945

1) No - they can be anywhere on the map. My Kharkov map has 4 non-adjacent hexes as zones that contribute a prestige action when controlled. (Have updated doc.)
2) Can you give a specific example of when you would want actions to fire multiple times? It may be possible using zones and an action attached to each one.

Trying to come up with one.
My question was more from a point of view that I don’t want them to fire more than once in a scenario.
:?

But how about this….

A scenario written around the ebb and flow of a battle around a key zone in the center of the map. Each time you gain control of the zone, you gain some prestige points. So the trigger would be something like:
“number of Axis units in zone 1 is more than 5 add 10 prestige”

Then say on turn 2 you gain control but lost it on turn 4 and then gained it back on turn 7 – the trigger would fire two times and you would be rewarded a total of 20 prestige points for it.
As it is now; you would only fire the trigger once and only gain a total of 10 prestige points.

It could be done but it would take quite a bit of work with Action triggers:
The trigger would be turn-based as well as checking zones, number of units, flags or whatever.
Turn = 1, number of Axis units in zone 1 is more than 5 add 10 prestige
Turn = 2, number of Axis units in zone 1 is more than 5 add 10 prestige
and so on.

As I say, a lot of work.

Alternatively, Turn = 1-15, number of Axis units in zone 1 is more than 5 add 10 prestige and so on.

Yeah thought of that. Thus why a trigger that will fire each turn that it is true would be good; instead of only once.... or a copy/paste ability on the triggers to do the turn by turn option.
:)

There you go - good option to add to the Scenario Editor requests thread.

My maps have many of the trigger actions you are requesting, so... it can be done.

Yes it can be done - that is if you want a lot of triggers in you scenario. But it would be much easier to have one trigger that can fire more than once.

+1 Intenso. The Dropbox links on the Tools and Guides page are missing. I've picked up bits here and there reading through old forum posts, but any comprehensive and precise guide that is a bit more advanced than the basic guide to map creation would be useful.
