Norway Decisive Victory but little prestige to show for it.

I wonder just what is going on with the prestige calculation as I have got a DV in Norway but amazed to see I only got 790 prestige for this, nowhere near enough. How can I prosecute the next war in the LC with so little prestige - I could not even get a MV. Firstly I do not know whether unused prestige from previous scenario is carried over to the next, secondly on a previous Norway scenario I just managed a MV but got 1400 prestige starting the LC. Something wierd going on here.(Playing Colonel difficulty)

Can anyone clarify this as I would have thought you get much more prestige for a DV than a MV. Perhaps also indicate what prestige they had at the start of the LC campaign.

Its confirmed that Norway is one of the few scenarios (if not only) that awards more Prestige for a MV than a DV so best to sit back and wait before you take the final objective (not the most northern one as taking every thing else but that one will end the scenario prematurely)

Unused Prestige does carry through from scenario to scenario

I can't remember how much Prestige I had starting the LCs but IIRC it was enough to bring all units back to strength 10 (never worth overstrengthing at this stage) plus purchase new units upto my core slots as well as upgrading a few....I did still have a Pz II so it wasn't unlimited!!!!

If you check my AAR the diary of Herr Pferdmann it should be more clear on what sort of resources I had

And this is on Colonel level

Go back to my earlier Norway MV

Looks like I will have to do this but looks like a game fault which should be corrected.

Will have a read of your AAR.

Indeed, I think it was due to the slightly different victory conditions.....

If you really feel hard done by (and who wouldn't!) Then you could always use the Prestige cheat to give you the extra 500 prestige a MV would have earned you

I believe it's only logical that you'll get less prestige when you achieve a decisive victory.
Usually an unintentional MV player barely comes by, it's sadistic to put him into a more difficult situation than a DV palyer.
See it as a challenge, rather than a bonus. 8)

As far as numbers go... Well I have 2889 at the deploy phase of LC when I MVed in Norway on Field Marshall level (and I believe it shares the same prestige factors with colonel level), and only have 870 for a DV in Norway on Rommel level.
For a normal player, I think that should cover it.
If you find yourself somewhere below this number, you might have some serious problems. :)

But this is against the concept of prestige = standing or estimation in the eyes of people : weight or credit in general opinion 8)
The idea is that a brilliant general gains recognition for his great victories, has more influence among hes peers and receives more and better equipment.

BTW, on colonel level, I believe you will get about 400 more prestige from a MV than DV, if otherwise you played all the same.

Perhaps it's because you matched soooooooooo fast, that the news of your victory hasn't reached Berlin yet. 8)

On a more serious nore - I understand the gameplay concept of more prestige for a DV, afterall its the players struggling that need more help not those able to achive DVs easily.....on the other hand in seems more intuitive for DVs to award more
