Multiplayer question(s)

I just issued my first multiplayer challenge (I issued the first one as the Germans against Poland). Someone named Spartacus quickly accepted the challenge and I got the email to take my first turn.

I Figured this would be a quick way to figure it out, (while getting pounded, it's how I learn) but I do have a couple of questions. I was surprised to see that I had equipment on the field on turn one. I figured that in multiplayer you would get to spend a certain amount of prestige at the beginning of the turn, and then place equipment in certain slots.

Question 1) Do you start with pre-determined equipment on the field in every multiplayer match, or is it like the campaign where that just happens in Poland?

If you start with most slots deployed on turn one in every multiplayer scenario then it would certainly be an advantage to know what each side starts with, and it's starting positions, that leads to...

Question 2) If I just want to learn the starting equipment and locations for a given scenario, do I just simply issue a challenge and pick PAIRED, is paired like hotseat where I could play both sides to learn the scenarion starting equipment and locations, as well as these multiplayer maps I have never seen?

Question 3) If the answer to my first question is that you are going to start every single multiplayer map with game issued equipment in the field, is there is no way to disband that equipment AND GET PRESTIGE BACK to remake your own army?

Thanks for your answers,

Ezee

#1. Only in the campaign scenarios. If you play the 10 special purpose MP maps, you are typically given a small starting force with lots of prestige and lots of open core slots.

#2. Paired games are games that generate two matches. In a paired game, both players play as both sides, albeit in two separate games. So it's not quite like hotseat where you play both sides at the same time. If you just want to learn, best bet is to move the scenario files around and play hot seat single player to familiarize yourself.

#3. No disbanding returns prestige except during campaign deployment.

Bottom line if you're looking for strong game play features and high flexibility stick to the 10 special purpose MP maps.
If you're looking for more historical battles, the campaign scenarios turned into multiplayer scenarios may be more your style.

So hopefully, there's a little bit of something for everyone. :)

Or go to the design center and download Bocage Hell. It is a great small map for MP

It was Battle Of Buzurra I started, not actually the Poland campaign scenario. So I assume that if I had started any other of the first 10, I would have started with more flexibility. I was looking for more evenly matched for both sides, and wanted to start on a small map.

Thanks for your answers so quickly.

I will just continue to issue challenges and learn some of the maps while getting beat upon, it's all good. And I guess I will have to issue challenges from each side, in order to learn their starting prestige, equipment, and placement options. That makes for more learning, moret time, and more fun. So, look for lots of non-passworded challenges from me, and come get your "Ezee" wins.

I might as well learn the maps now, before you start an online tracking feature for wins / losses...

I will also download the custom map mentioned in the above post, I saw it in the scnario editor section of the forum.

Bzura is flexible in the nature of the objectives more than the placement of units. The 10 MP maps have degrees of flexibility, lowest being Hunters in the Atlantic and highest being Urban Warfare.
Good luck in your games, but most of all have fun!

Those maps are not balanced for MP.

If want to use one, copy the two files with the map name and place them in C:\My Documents\My Games\Panzer Corps\Scenario

Welcome to the forums.

There is no MP campaign. It has been raised in the past but I am not sure if it is even on the radar to be a feature in the future.

To find an opponent, go into Multiplayer from within the game and log in with your forum ID and password. Look for current games (but most require a password) or post a challenge yourself (without a password) and someone will take you up on it. If you want a specific opponent you will need to contact them (PM on the forum or an email) to let them know what the password is for the challenge that you post for them (put their name in the description).

I played through the vanilla campaign and all the DLCs until now, started multiplayer as I got a little bored before the new DLC will come hopefully soon.
I have some questions:
a) In multiplayer settings all challenges that I start off seem to evoke the notice that the game map will me marked as altered/ modified. I never did such a thing, why am I prompted with that message all the time? Is it a bug? I never touched a file in panzercorps!
b) In the battle of Bzura multiplayer map I have seen a PanzerIIe tank (not the common PanzerIIc!). I never seen that version in any single player campaign map, is there different equipment around in multiplayer maps?
c) Is there a way to see how many multiplayer games my opponent has won? I´d like to know his skill - or maybe multiplayer ranking.
d) Why is there only a few even multiplayer maps in the default options and how can I find custom made ones?

a) Someone else will have to help with that one.
b) Check again - I think you'll find it's a Pz III E
c) No, unfortunately. One day there may be a ladder but not yet.
d) See the Scenario Design forum and the link to custom maps there. You can also copy the single-player ones into the custom folder and play those multi-player but they are often not balanced for MP. The Common Questions thread has instructions.

Cheers

Since you were hacked I've been unable use multi-player, and still can't.
The most recent issue is that when I access my turn it goes to the map, but in a couple of seconds I get tossed out to desktop...and my resolution has been changed!
You haven't fixed the issue yet.

Hi.
It might happen that you might have to repeat the game.

It would be nice to have previews of all mp maps somewhere so you dont have to lose 5 times before you learn the enemy formations, amount of prestiges, airplanes etc. I like to make plans also "offline" when im waiting my opponents move and that kind of information helps a lot.

Hi Naxor

The preview is called editor. Before I start the first turn I check the game in the editor to have a look at the setting, starting units and victory conditions.
Of cause it would be nice to have this information within the game, but it is available allready.

To view the game offline would be great of cause, just without the option to do any move at all, but to make some notes. This would be really good to make AARs.

Best regards
Gwaylare

The solution was not to restart the game, because that didn't work either.
I had to do a complete reinstall. Please, don't get hacked again.
