Hi,

I do not know if it is just me but when I choose this army I got an instant message saying that the bodyguard name Arab, Armenian, etc has been duplicated. None of the units has a description; it just reads Arab, Armenian, Bithynian, etc.

Do you guys have the sae problem or is it just me?

Let's try again:

After upgrading the game to version 1.60 I noticed that if you go to the DAG and choose the Late Rpublican Army Brutus&Casius you get an error message stating that the commander bodyguard name Arab is duplicated. The same for the other allies. None of the units of the allies has his right descritpion.

Pls see the pictures attached. I re-install the game several times
(deleting the registry and all that) but it doesnt worked. I dont know
it is a bug or just me.

Just tried it and I could pick the army with Arab allies, no problem.

you got all the books?

Yes. I expect they will answer you once Eternal Empires is released and they have a bit more time. They usually respond to these sorts of queries quite quickly.

First noticed it in SAS' Later Crusader (Richard I) list, but I just checked and it's also happening in ROR's Late Republican(Brutus & Cassius).

Running 1.6.0, with all expansions except LTR and ETE.

Well, im not alone it seems. I Also have the same problem with the Seleucids Pre 166 Bc, Parthians Saka campaign and in Soa with Condotta Florence.

The problem seems to be with some armies and their allies.

If I reinstall the game it's ok till version 1.50. Then if I upgrade the mess happens.....

I am also running version 1.6.0 with all expansions and I do not get any error messages in the above DAG lists. Everything appears to be running smoothly.

I did a fresh install on a different computer and I'm getting the same error on some armies. Again it Happens after updating version 1.50 to 1.60.

No luck...

One Eternal Empire I got the same error that "the commander bodyguard name is duplicated". That happens In every army that has the Albanian or Bohemian as allies.
Eg: Later Ottoman (early)

If a player with a duplicated commander was in the EE beta then the EE saved armies may have to be re-entered from scratch. For anyone else with such an issue can you send a copy of the saved army file (from my documents/slitherine/field of glory armies) to keith@hexwar.com.

At the moment unable to replicate and any saved army files to test would be great.

Hi keith, thanks for the answer.

I didnt participate on ant beta.

All I did was patch the game as the upgrqdes were released.
I reinstalled the game more than three times and the same happens. When I uninstalled the game I also delete all the folders that remained and also delete everything from the registry.

When reinstalling everything is ok till version 1.50. After updating that is when the problem starts.

Also did a fresh install on a different computer. Installed FOG with a new exe that Chrsitian sent me version 1.50. Then upgrade to 1.60. Then Installed ROR and the problem shows up.

I will send you a copy of the army file.
Got problems with some allies on every book.

I made another try. Install from scartch Fog v 1.50; then downloaded patch 1.60 from the matrix games web page and applied it. Then I enter the serial number of the books but unfortunately I keep getting the bodyguard name duplicated problem....

I installed the 1.6.0 comprehensive patch from matrix on top of my FOG install (which already was at 1.6.0, patched using the in-game updater) and still get the error on starting the DAG...

I have all expansions except ETE and LTR, running Win7 64 in spanish. I didn't participate in the ETE beta (nor in the previous one, IIRC)

Update: Suspecting the error could be related to the FOG translations and my spanish OS, I changed the extension of all the files in the Resources folder except en.mo and en_GB.mo. Problem fixed

You are the man!! It worked. I just moved the files to another folder.

Now my men can die knowing who they are .

Keith, do you think this could be fixed on the next patch?

This one took some figuring out and was hard to replicate here but now fixed ready for release 1.6.1.
