PACIFIC CAMPAIGN ... Random Battles/OOB... Junk?

Junk2Drive,

I was thinking about turning my focus to the Pacific, and since you're the resident guru on the subject I'd asked you.
At this point, I'm just throwing out junk (pun intended  ) for discussion wise.

I was able to create a new random forces script which looks at platoon size OOB's. This helps a lot since it opens the gate for reinforcements because I can genenate half as many units that are totally random! This leaves the second half (of the 64 unit limit) open. Platoon Size choices are OK, but I think variations on a Company Size selection would work better. This will prevent your core force from being an entire company of trucks!

My thoughts on the Campaign ... (Company Size battles).

 CarryOver Campaign ... Using JTCS OOB's as a reference, I can generate specfic formations. Can you think of good force mixes? (US/Japan)
 1st Scenario .... Random Beach Landing.
 2nd + ... Anything at this point, perhaps random missions?, i.e. Take-the-hill, Patrol area, etc.

Again, I'm seeing if this might interest anyone. It won't be a B.O.C. because I have old random scripts that toss stuff out with pure randomness (or non-sense in my case), however, the VP's and other stuff (bonus asset?) can be thrown in for kicks and grins.

Merr.

My brain isn't working well so forgive me in advance.

The main thing with random and Pacific is that there is no Pacific terrain set. When I make a map I use bits of France and Desert and palm trees. I suppose a Pacific set could be put together somehow. I didn't get a lot of interest in Pacific campaigns. Never got any island style huts or houses. Normandy houses can be used for colonial regions but there are not enough small houses.

To me the game is best as a tank game with combined arms. Not enough tank action in the PTO.

Thanks for you comments ... I hope your brain get's back into gear.

Indeed, a Pacific Campaign would need a lot of work and perhaps left to another day.
