AI Paratroops

I've been making some mini-scenarios, and I am having trouble with AI paratroops.

Firstly, if I just put them on the scenario map on an airfield, I find they will not get into air transport and be used as partroops. They remain as infantry for the whole game.

Secondly, if I put them into air transport at the beginning, I find they just fly round the map endlessly. I have a scenario I am practising with (to get the full gist of the editor) which has a three-hex city in the middle and the enemy (AI) transport planes just seem to swarm around there, without dropping anyone.

Is there any special scripting I should be doing?

In the case of the air transports, there are two acceptable alternatives:

1) Have them drop at a specially scripted hex
2) Have the AI choose where to drop them (so each game is different)

Cheers!

paratroper cant land on enemy unit..

they "jump" in the rain even near enemy AA or fighter

The AI has a problem with paratroops and can not jump.

If the problem is resolved, it will be in the next patch.

I was just about to post this very same thing.

So this is on the bug list - good to know

As far as i know AI with the option of using any sea or air transports is waste of time at the moment as they don't know how to use them.So in terms of building a scenario and then trying to test it with the AI is pointless at the moment without a much needed patch.

I made one and the sea transports landed fine with the AI ... but the paras just flew around enjoying the clouds.
