As the inept Axis I'm trying to figure out the importance of protecting various capitals and am hoping someone can help answer the following:

If Berlin falls but the Axis still control another capital (Rome or Paris) does the game end?

What about if the Allies have all capitals but Hamburg is still under Axis control?

I also assume it is theoretically possible for Italy to fight on even if Germany has surrendered...

To remove the Germans you must capture Berlin and Hamburg. Italy will bravely fight on without the Germans.

Yep, I've played a couple of games where my Italians helped me to avoid an axis defeat.... Much harder now with the Tunis rule....
