britcon enquiry

Ive been emailed that I have a place, and I stated on my application that Im happy to float between periods / scales.....

do I still need to submit an army list?

if I do, I was hoping to put myself under some pressure to finally paint that 28mm egyptian army for fog AM 28mm..... but time is tight and Im worried I may not get it painted in time...

if I fail to finish it... is it ok to enter something else closer to the date?

I wont be competing for a podium finish in any period/scale so this isnt a weak effort to gain more practice time before submitting a list.... just hoping I can have a go at painting the army without feeling too pressured into timescales and stuff......this stuff is supposed to be fun!

np if it all has to be done by a certain date, but if thats the case can someone confirm which period I am entered into?

apologies if this doesnt belong on here....

Send an army list in for each period you have agreed to float in.

Then email the organisers and let them know which you would prefer to enter given the choice. Let them know at this point that you may not be able to float into the 28mm if you don't get the toys painted.

Absolutely you'll need to enter a list (by this Friday) for each period you've entered.

Yes - for each of the periods you are willing to float betweem

I'm afraid we really need to know at the deadline for list submission as we then publish the runner & riders. We appreciate that you are helping out by offering to float, however, this still applies. If this affects the periods you can float between just drop JD a line about it.

We can't really confirm which period the floaters are in until the actual event as we may have somebody drop out at the last minute which can change things

Hi Jon

I'm afraid I think the idea of "floating" is that the organisers won't know until the day which period they may be short in.

For example a period may have even numbers until someone doesn't make it on the day for a thousand different reasons.

All, unfortunatley true :(

If this means you won't be able to float - understandable if it is not possible to cart multiple armies around - just let JD know.

Yep - the issue is Jon is that with a comp this size you often get one or two drop outs with a couple of hours' notice only. Hence they need to shuffle at the last minute.
