Dear community,
I am angry about the very bad and sometimes wrong German localization of the Game.
Yesterday, I decided to do not agree with that any longer and I edited and remade the whole localization of the game.
I hope this will bring you a chance to calm down from the horrible (sorry, but thats the only correct description, unfortunately) standard translation.
You can download it as a ZIP archive
here.
Cheers;

We've not got any help from the native German speaking persons in the GS v2.0 beta group in translating the message files into German. The same applies to the Italian, French, Polish and Russian version. Only the Spanish and English versions have good translations verified by a gamer.
So we would therefore be very grateful to have anyone from Germany, Italy, France, Poland and Russia help us with translating the message files.
Officially we only support the English version because English is our common language (in the beta group). We've, however, used the language files from the vanilla game and translated the changes using an online translator. Some times during the process we've got feedback from people with knowledge of these languages, but not regularly enough to ensure the quality of the translations.
We've made some translations to GS v2.01.10 as well. If you could PM me your email address then I can send the message_ger.txt file to you so you can fix it. Then we can make sure your file will become part of the official next GS v2.0 patch.
If people who are native in French, Italian, Polish or Russian want to help us then I propose they send me a PM so we can send you the latest message files for translation.

Sorry, but what does "GS" actually stand for?

It is short for Grand Strategy.

And what does that mean?

Military historian B. H. Liddell Hart says about grand strategy:
Grand strategy should both calculate and develop the economic resources and man-power of nations in order to sustain the fighting services. Also the moral resources – for to foster the people's willing spirit is often as important as to possess the more concrete forms of power. Grand strategy, too, should regulate the distribution of power between the several services, and between the services and industry. Moreover, fighting power is but one of the instruments of grand strategy – which should take account of and apply the power of financial pressure, and, not least of ethical pressure, to weaken the opponent's will. ...
Strategy is the management and direction of an enterprise at a high level, as tactics is the management at lower levels. Grand Strategy, in the military sense, is at the level of High Command and top political leadership in global conflict.
Seems to fit CEaW/GS quite well.
