Online play and results

Love the ease of the online ........ a masterpiece in simplicity for an online beginner like me. The last time I played online in the PG series you had to mess about with files and so on - so in my ignorance I expected this again. It's so quick and simple that you can basically play hot-seat if you arrange to stay online ..... or have a Blackberry that bleeps when your turn e-mail arrives ....... brilliant!

One thing I'm missing is the results or records for online play - is there a table or record of this? Apologies if I have missed this in the PDF as I'm awaiting the physical shipment to read the manual properly.

We wanted to have this, but it will require a few changes in Slitherine PBEM++ server, so it did not make into 1.0.

Stats tracking would be good addition but it is a double edged sword.
There may be stats whores who will be cheating, whining, quitting midway, etc.

The good thing about PBEM++ is the way that those kinds of abuses are tracked. I'm not sure what the consequences would be, but it would affect a player's reputation at least.

Does the server track IP addresses or just user names? Not sure if it's relevant but it might be an added disincentive for cheating etc

Sry for my english, I´ll try my best.

I´m not that happy with the only(?) way to play PCorps online. My hope was, there will be some kind of semi-simultan-modus in it too. Maybe like in Frozen Synapse (completely different genre): Both players sitting in front of the game, making their moves, hitting the hourglass and the game calculates the results, displayed immediately. Still turn-based but without the laborious way of playing, sending, loading, playing, sending, loading and so on. Is there an option I did not noticed? :(

I wouldn't want to sit and watch while the opponent makes his turns. Takes forever. And no, I wouldn't want a time limit either.
I like it the way it is.

Only things I miss are huge statistics: when played, against, possibility to review each match over and over...

Well, if a person abandons a game, eventually the other player is allowed to CLAIM a win on it. I just can't remember the waiting period, 2 weeks or something around there.

I suppose a person could log on, make a second account and just feed wins off that account. But Slitherine could probably check the reg keys to make sure this isn't happening, (if they don't already). I never tried it.

It's 30 days to claim a game.
