Slitherine

I have just spent 5-6 hrs trying to figure out how to get this new Mod. First you all say uninstall all old versions, get 1.12 patch here. OK, but when I download and unzip all I get is some files like Data, fast Data, game, gui, sound and 2 text documents in user/docoments file; Theres's nothing in Progam Files(x86)/Slitherine. Is this just a patch for the basic game or is 1.12 a stand alone game??? If it's just a patch, what file do I need to patch 1.12 to???? Or is there a install exe somewhere for 1.12???

I'm frustrated and my mind is numb now after 1/2 the day with this. Also, I know you're going to think I'm nuts, but when I tried using Matrix download, and 2.0, that screwed up Battlefield Academy, & now I can't launch that game. What a day!!!!

Ouch ... sorry about your headache ...

The upgrade from the older vanilla version of CEaW (e.g., 1.06) to 1.12 Gold is a manual upgrade. After you unzip the 1.12 download, you'll need to copy it over the top of your older CEaW version. If this makes you uncomfortable first make a backup copy of your CEaW files and folders. After you copy the 1.12 upgrade files over 1.06 (or whatever version you have) when you start up CEaW you see see that version number. After all that, then just run the GSv2.00 installer and point to the folder where the vanilla game is installed and all should be fine.

I followed your directions(I think). I have a real old version, on a disk that originally was on a computer w/XP OS. I don't know if I had it on my present computer, which has Vista Premium & is A Gateway. Anyways, the original downloading mchanism I have, is via Digital River downloader; Vista made me jump thru hoops to install, but it did. When I downloaded this older version it wouldn't launch. I also have on that disk, upgrades,for 1.02,1.04,& 1.06 updates. I did 1.02; still won't lauch.

Now, trying to follow directions, I dragged& dropped the files the showed in WINZIP software; if I unzip this 1.12 file, all I get is these files in
my User/Documents file. When I D&D it unzipped files and put in files in Slitherine(x86) file. Then I downloaded 2.0 again, but still won't launch!! I have also tried running as Admin. mode or whatever that is. Now, both with my old version and 2.0, when I go into Slitherine file(x86) you will see
application exe. and if I ask for a shortcut to be put on desktop, you get a weid icon, not looking like original icon in file. The one, now after 6-7-8 or whatever times, is a small square box, with different color dots inside. I have tried launching from orinal icon in Slitherine file. No go.

Could these old downloading things be corrupted. They were copied 2-3 times now. Is there any way I can get another original downlaod for the vanilla version?? My original order # is ***********, bought Jan.2010. Serial # is **********.

You need to ask Ian at Slitherine, but with those details I am sure he will be able to help - although he may not be happy about you telling the world your serial number!

thanks for that; you can see I am not thinking right. I'm just so frustrated, now 10-12 hrs, trying to get this update.

Slitherine fixed me up today and I'm flying!!! with 2.0. Really great!!! Submarine warfare is much-much better, and I'm reading gigantic
manual in bits to familiarize meself with all new gagets.
