Persistent problems trying to download Panzer Corps

Hello there,

I was a day one player of the original Panzer General. I still own a PC and a 3DO Version in mint condition. :)

I'm very much looking forward to Panzer Corps!

I just purchased the game and have tried downloading it without much success.

First of all, the download speed is woefully low.

You probably can't do much about that, but 428 MB in two hours is quite irritating for those who purchase the game after work.

The download speed keeps on jumping between 30 and 80 KB/s, including very rare and very short spikes of 120 KB/s.

My normal download speed is somewhere around 360 KB/s.

So the download speed problem is server side, not client side.

Secondly, I already had two corrupt downloads at about 200 MB.

That means that I've spent the better part of this evening trying to download a mere 428 MB file due to bad download conditions.

Das macht aus mir einen traurigen General :(

That makes me a sad General ;)

In my wisdom, I kept the receipt page, which includes download link and code, open in a separate tab. Just in case...

Had I not done this, the whole experience would have turned horrible.

The first Email didn't include any download links or instruction.

The only link available sends the user to a page from Plimus.

Nowhere there is there a download link available.

The user however has the opportunity to send himself another receipt email. That one does include a download link.

What this website is missing is a big fat download again button.

It also seems that I'm not the only one with this kind of problem.

That might become a liability for you very soon.

Scheiße!

And now my download has stopped prematurely for the third time. Again!

It's 22:36 where I live now.

Come on!

I'm going to bed.

Don't anyone take this thread as troll bait.

I get paid very well, as an online corporate communications consultant, for assessments like this.

Sorry you are having problems. The servers are widely distributed and so its unlikely there is an issue with the server and probably some link between you and the server. Anyway that doesn't really matter - we just need to get you up and running. Can you mail your order details to info@slitherine.co.uk and we'll get you up and running ASAP.

I just got it to work.

It took four downloads but I was able to install the game.

Brilliant piece of software.

It takes me back to the old days while at the same time feeling fresh.

Kudos to the developer and to the publishers.
