Airfields

Enjoyable game so far. Got my butt kicked in the 4th (?) Training Mission. I lost my tactical focus right off the bat, and never fully recovered.
Regarding airfields..
Only 1 plane at a time? Is that correct or am I doing something wrong? Seems like the capacity should be a bit higher than that. Maybe 5?

Airfields can resupply planes within 1 hex radius, so 7 planes at once.

But you can only mount up airborne troops when they are directly on the airfield, correct?

Correct. Not only paratroopers, but any infantry. Only infantry is from airfield to airfield. And paratroopers can be drop almost anywhere.

Yes. Also, you need to be directly above the airfield to replace or upgrade your plane.

Directly on top of the airfield only, when requesting reinforcement for aircraft.
Or done so during the deployment phase.

I know this reply is 4 years later, but I just purchased all of the Panzer Corps, Afrika Corps, Allied Corps games yesterday and was wondering how plane supply worked. Knew I'd find it here!

planes will refuel if next to a controlled airfield
Your CAN heal them if they're ON the airfield
repairing them cost prestige, more so if you repair keeping their experience.
In between scenarios, repairs cost half (you got a healing bonus
