after reading the Allocation combat dice bullet point three (Page 93-94), sentance two and three it seem to suggest that when two unit shoot a single unit you use the worst POA and qualty so a unit of elite bow (2 dice) and Poor Crossbow (2 dice) shot at Unprotected cavalry this would become 4 poor dice at 0POA rather than 2 Elite ++POA and 2 Poor 0POA, have I read that right, or does this only apply when dealing when dealing with losing dice situations?

NO,
you take the worst POA only if you make dice of fire with 2 bases of differents units/
Ex: 6MF BW Average and 6 MF BW poor shooting to the same target. You have 4 dices Average ( 3 first rank + 1 2nd rank ), 4 dices POOR ( 3 first rank and 1 2nd rank ) and one other dice make by 1 base of the Poor 2nd rank + 1 base of the averge 2nd base = 1 POOR dice ( taking the worse POA or Quality ).

That does make sense, that what you get when you start reading text trying not to read what you know
Thanks
