Hello, I would like to know if the spanish medieval army list will cover the fall of Granada army and Gonzalo Fernandez de Cordoba`s army in Naples, and the use of pikes, sword and bucklermen and massed arquebusier fire.

Now another issue: how will warwagons be covered by the rules?

I am afraid that this army just falls outside the timeframe of Art of War. It is generally considered to be an early Renaissance army rather than a Medieval one.

The 'coronelias' were already used during the fall of Granada, only that crossbows and not arquebuses were the ranged weapons in use. That is not to say that those 'coronelias' fighted like tercios, in combined arms mode, but that pikes, sword and bucklermen and crossbows were part of the spanish army before 1500. Are those troop types included in the spanish army?

Do late german armies have arquebusiers? If so, will they be graded as light, skirmish troops?

I think they were the result of the major reforms in 1485 which is the end date of the Medieval Spanish lists and the theoretical end date of the rules although a few armies cary on after 1485 not all nations are represented till the drop dead date. What you really want is Renaissance Art of War but I really can't say if or when that would be likely to happen.

Yes and they are light foot. The Swiss get quite a lot of handgunners too who are also light foot.

War wagons are an area that is still under discussion. I think that you can be confident they will behave historically which is not something that can be said of the dancing war wagons of DBM. There have been about four different sets of war wagon rules and so far they have not solidified.

The Late Medieval Spanish list it??s a problem under DBM-AOW Period. This he is one of the first Renaissance armies of Europe, and it already had Renaissance structure at the end of the period that covers AOW.


I think that the style battle of this army cannot be reflected with a ancient rules , it would be necessary to adapt the list in order to give an historical Look at least.


The Granada War 1482-1492, it could be an option in the army List.
