Apologies if this has already been asked before but I cannot seem to find the answer...

Is a battlegroup of horse that is joined by a battlegroup of commanded shot a single battlegroup or two battlegroups in terms of calculating victory/defeat?

Cheers in advance

2 as they do not actually join together - they support each other through the Protected rules.

Ouch!

So...

in an 800pt army with a break point of 13 and you lose/have broken a BG of 4x horse and a BG of 2x commanded shot you are 8/13 in terms of reaching your breakpoint?

No - only 4 to 13 - each BG counts as 2 Break Points, so the Commanded Shot count as 2 and the horse count as 2. Still painful although the mutual support factors make this less possible!

Jeez how dense of me...

A grand battlegroup that is broken suffers 4BPs - how could I miss that!!
