Halftracks

The halftrack in the game is a transport unit. If my Panzer-grenadiers level up to say 13, and I drive up to an enemy unit and attack, will this extra combat power figure into the attack, or only if they are disembarked?

Are their halftrack units in the game that are combat units similar to tanks? I haven`t gotten past a third battle without deleting for a new build, so I haven`t seen to many of the available units yet.

None of these kinds of combat half tracks are in PzC, just transport models are in. So far.

Although the long term plan is to add many more units, and allow current units more functionality (a lot of air defense half track units can be switched to ground attack mode for example like the 88 can)

Yup, but for the very first version of Panzer Corps, there was a very real unit limitation we had to observe. In the future though, more units is definitely a priority.
My poor, poor KV-85 didn't even make 1.0. :(

Sorry about your KV, but the units look fantastic. Are they scans of miniatures or something? I was comparing screenshots of the PG games, and the units in PG2 and Peoples General look cartoonish compared to PzC.

I remember that campaign. That's that the mission where you repel the French counter-attack, right after that mass paratrooper mission where you don't really use your core at all, heh.
Nice campaign, but I did hate that paratrooper mission (or any mission that pretty much relies purely on AUX forces instead of the player's CORE)

This reminds me how I hated that isometric perspective in PG2.
I like to play isometric games (like Fallout, Baldur's Gate, X-COM, etc, etc), but Panzer General, I just hated...

I liked that view in the Talonsoft Battleground games, I always hated the top down view of Steel Panthers, but I like that game system.

I do like the aircraft ID flags on the tanks in that shot, I also thought the little commander in the tank in PzC was neat. I guess that was to show a leader with that unit?

The combat halftracks in PGII are in the recon class, wil that be the case in PzC, or will a new class be maybe added?

The class of a unit is a simple numerical value in the equipment.pzeqp file (it is similar in PG2), so the type of unit a combat halftrack becomes can easily be changed. Infantry in halftracks can already attack when mounted - not very effectively, but sometimes enough to finish off a weakened enemy.
