I can't check it out because I reinstalled the game and all campaigns are locked. I finished the tutorial and they are still locked.

You need to finish one mission in the Desert before the others unlock IIRC.

I lost with 10 turns remaining, killed 9 tanks.

Most of the time the retreat feature worked well and made sense. I had one hetzer that retreated toward the enemy but it may have been the terrain or the lesser of the threats. The hetzers are very tough from the front.

Good job.

Hiya Junk,

Thanks for giving it a go. My best score is 25 kills but that's after playing over a dozen times.

It makes a good scenario to practice "Flank Management".
The scenario MAP should be familiar (normandy10), and the code's a modified version of the Axis Missions.
That (I hope) shows anyone how they can quickly make a scenario from a proven Slitherine scenario!

The Hetzer's pretty slippery and I hope it's the answer to the Allies M5 Stuart as far as "target size" goes. Your 2:1 kill ratio on the first run shows what the Hetzer can do! The unit cost is 100 ... that might be too cheap for what it can do, but when it comes to "cheap" that's what the Hetzer's all about!

wrt Reverse ..... Yeah, in a 1v1 situation the code works nice .... Add more threats in the solution and it's a coin toss on how it's going to behave.

Hopefully someone will make a cool scenario with it ... we'll see.

Nice scenario!

My first try ended up in total defeat in like 5 turns.

But on my second try, I moved all of the tanks to the bottom of the playing area and used the border as a protection for my 'back'. It worked pretty well ... if you keep a tank on the road square it will prevent the US units from coming on the board there.

I had to move the units a bit to keep the US tanks from converging on my new base but it seemed to work well.

I tried to keep two tanks together at all times so that I would have multiple responding shots if a US tank popped up somewhere.

I lost one tank about 6 turns in and then lost 3 more towards the end of the game.

I finished with 1 surviving tank and 30 kills.

Very fun scenario. Make more! :)

Sounds like lots of people are having fun with it. Merr - do you feel it's ready to go up onto the ingame downloads? I've been a little lax in keeping it well stocked... :(

Not yet .... I've been brainstorming your scripts and I want to at least do the following ;
1. change the scenario's map (perhaps random).
2. random forces (using platoon's instead of units).
3. perhaps add more scenarios.
4. maybe a carryover.
5. etc, etc.

All of that should give the scenario some replayability, and perhaps a different challenge each time instead of dancing to the same tune.

Anyway, I had a breakthrough on a new BONUS .... Random Bonus!
The logic is simple ...
- I combined similiar bonus' (airstrike, artillery, aid) into one bonus script and assigned it a universal variable value.
- set the random universal variable in the scenario script.
Since the variable remains the same throughout the scenario the logic never breaks!

And finally, for the random maps, I built some basic logic for the AI to use their bonus properly.

Thanks for playing and your comments!

I hope to update this scenario (using more random logic) and provide some different challenges for the Hetzer!

In the meantime, I recommend playing the SLITH_RANDOM campaign missions ;

 Normandy Skirmish
 Allied Special Assignments
 Axis Special Operations

The script logic in Hetzer! is based on Slitherine's logic!
I constantly play those scenarios when I have a momentary lapse in reasoning!
