Victory conditions different between campaigns and scenarios

So here I am playing the second scenario of '39 again in Norway on FM level. Oh by the way, had another untimely surrender - UGH. But that's not what really has me in an uproar at the moment.

I'm on turn 18 and I'm crushing Norway - really enjoying this game and I'm gonna get a decisive victory. I have the Northern Ports surrounded and I'm ready for the big praise. And WTH, the game ends with a marginal victory on turn 18. Now I'm upset. This can't be happening !!!!!!

I have a save game of this and a screen shot, but don't have a place to post the url for the picture.

I guess if the end game told you what the victory conditions are and why you didn't meet them, then I wouldn't have written this thread. The end of game is far too obtuse.

Bret

update: guess campaign victory conditions are different than scenarios - ooops better pay better attention to victory conditions

For Campaign you need to do it in16 turns, plus capture a secondary objective.

Secondary objective is not defined.

18+9=27 Game is 25 turns long not 27 Need to do it in 16 turns.

UGH - wow - that is very difficult to achieve. Okay, well, I finally found where it says this and why is it different between campaigns and scenarios?

Campaigns are easier to win because you have extra prestige and experience from previous missions.

Therefore the parameters are set harder for a win. By doing this the campaign is much harder to win than playing the single scenario.

Thanks for the insight. I re-framed the thread and toned it down. Sorry for the drama
