Lillarpy wasn't kidding when he told me it's a blast to build something, then blow stuff up in BA !
Pip ... She's anatomically correct

... but I suppose I should exaggerate the cannon and mg, huh?
Also, what do you (or anybody for that matter) think the Armour ratings should be?
I've been testing these values against a gauntlet of allied attacks ;
Armour(0) ... 100
Armour(1) ... 30
Armour(2) ... 30
Armour(3) ... 20
Target Size ... 65 (stuG is 75)
She can put up a good fight ! .... I fear her front armour's a bit low ...
It's 60mm sloped back @ 60 ... suppose to be equivalent to 120mm.
In comparison, your Panther has 80mm @ 55 = 139mm ... your value is 140.
Maybe I should use 120 to start?
I think I answered my own question! ... start with rw values, then gel and adjust.

Great to see you venturing into other areas.
How many polys?

That is really pretty awesome - and something new to a non-expert like myself

. Really like the camo scheme too.
Cheers

Thank you! I'm still climbing the Blender ladder.

461..... The gun mantle gulps up the most ... I can reduce it a bit more, but I still need to add the skirts and the rear fender(estimate 32 extra polys for them).
I want to draw the texture ... Right now I'm using the Marder DDS for the chassis, and the top view of the Hetzer schematic.
Pip ... This is the camo look I'd like to use ...

Haha I was going to look for the "Blender 3D Exporter" thread and my eyes got stuck at "Hetzer"! One of Laxen's (ZEAL's Game Designer) favourite tanks, he used to spam these in Company of Heroes having them cloaked and waiting for Shermans
I have no idea when it comes to stats as I am not that good on tanks, I only know that I love em
Looking good Merr!

Thanks guys !
I did some research on camo patterns and this one is the most common for the west front. It's not hand drawn ... I googled images and found this and mapped it on the model. I still would like to hand draw the texture (using that pattern) but I'm not a good artist and I'm somewhat lazy to boot!
I should have the shakedown scenario out today!
I'm just doing some last minute tweaks for animation.
Look for it soon!

Merr, I am rather stunned by the Hetzer, the ambush pattern is my favorite, Panthers especially look good in it. Great work.

WOW
Hetzer means "baiter" in German, and boy that baby in Ambush paint scheme looks the part!
It was built on the light JPz 38(t) chassis (same as the Marder) and was inspired by the Romanian "Mareşal" tank destroyer. Using a proven chassis, it avoided the mechanical problems of the larger armoured vehicles. It mounts a 75 mm PaK 39 L/48 gun like the StuG III and StuG IV. So the Hetzer was mechanically reliable, small and easily concealed. It was also cheap to build.
It was assigned to the Panzerjägerabteilungen (tank destroyer battalions) of the infantry divisions, giving them some limited mobile anti-armor capability.
After the war this successful design was was copied exactly by the Swiss into their G-13 and is thought to be the inspiration of the Soviet ASU-85 Air-Droppable Assault Gun.
Any way thanks for your work

Thanks! The Hetzer is a fun tank.
I'm going to suggest that certain TD types have the abilities to "hide" in certain cover tiles. It would be a total suprise to find a Hetzer in a forest tile (light forest edge?) or a barn, waiting for the unsuspecting player to ignore that terrain with regards to armored vehicles! ... ouch.
