Demo available ?

Hi there!

I wonder when there will be a demo of Panzer Corps? If the developers are nearly gold, why not give a try to those PG fans, who where not lucky (or fast) enough, to become one of the beta version testers?

When Panzer General was released in 1994, I was one of the first german teenager purchasing it shortly after release, randomly buying it in a canadian store while on vacation. It literally made me a pc strategy gamer and still has an impact with Dosbox today, when you get tired of all those main stream games! What I have seen from the screenshots and further information so far, Panzer Corps has the chance to even get much more better than the classic PG :?:

What I want to say is, just give us more feed about the game like screenshots and a demo soon! I might strongly buy it!

Keep up the good work!
Cheers

Hi brainman77, welcome.
I don't know if there's gonna be a demo, but honestly, if you're a PG fan then you won't need a demo for this one. :)
Just prepare your credit card.
Probably, I say, there will be more available information before the release.

Thanks for the welcome VPaulus, you´re right, my credit card is always ready, when a good strategy game is on the spot.

But a demo is always a good indicator, to see if its really worth the money. In this case the PR/Marketing for Panzer Corps seems quite silent so far; nearly no infos/previews around the net, even the german game sites don´t seem to have taken much notice about the game, 2,5 weeks before release! Really unfortunate for such a classic game revival!

So, dear Admins and Developers, what about a demo before release? Also, a gameplay video would be very nice.

Keep´em coming! :D

Just my opinion, but to me, demos are only good to determine if the game will run on a system, not if I will like the game.

In the last 5 years, it has become too easy to get more than enough chatter on what a game will and will not be like. Those unable to decide if they like this game based on the hype that already exists (before it has even gone on sale) seriously need to work on either their reading skills or their decision making processes :)

I KNEW I was going to like BBC BA when I first heard of it.

I also KNOW I will like Panzer Korps. There's no maybe here.

Agreed. And that is why I would like a demo too.
For me, it doesn’t need to be much – just something to make sure it will work on my system.
This will be a must purchase to replace my ever missed PG... but what disapointment if it doesn't work right.

If thats what is really concerning you, I think you should have no problem, unless of course you've a very, and I say again very, old system.
What are your system specs?

HP Laptop, Windows 7, Screen Resolution 1366x768 (no idea on the video card though), 4GB RAM, bla bla bla .........
I'm fairly sure the "speed" of my laptop is ok - but I have had turn based games that just do not look good at all on my video. That's the main part I'm thinking about - the video.
Thanks

I see.
You shouldn't have any problem, but out of curiosity, what turn base games are you speaking?
Is that because they don't have wide screen support? Are they old?

Galactic Civilizations was one. I had to disable some of the graphics in the game to get it to work right. Fortunately in that game you can do that. But thinking about it – that game might not have been stated as able to be played on Win7.
But I’m sure you can appreciate the concern. Who wants to lay down some cash and then have to tweak or turn off stuff to get the game to run and look correctly?
But no matter – this is a must have game. I so miss Panzer General and Allied General.

Yes of course you're right.
Doesn't Galactic Civilizations has to render some 3D objects? But even so you shouldn't had problems.

Hhhmmmm - yes you are correct. And by reading in to your question - no issues here then........
.........isn't it time to buy yet? Waiting for this game for a long time now.
Thanks for putting my mind at ease.

You only be sure when you install it and run it. But then will be too late.
Now seriously, I think that your graphic glitches with Galactic Civilizations might be that.
I'm playing PzC in an Intel onboard graphic, so nothing special, and no problems.
Besides having had the privilege of beta testing PzC, had access to the beta forums, never read people having such kind of problems.
Even people with netbooks run it without a problem.
So I think you can rest your mind, and prepare your credit card for Monday.

My bland cheapo laptop will run Civilization V and War in the East, but it bogs done given a chance.

Heck even my desktop with a proper video card had trouble with War in the East. But then that game is processing a massive sum of calculations in a turn.

I'd be shocked if it couldn't run Panzer Korps.
