Is there supposed to be a 'hidden' passage between Sicily and Italy that allows infantry to walk on water?

I think I read somewhere that it represents the Straits of Messina, and ferries (?) that took units from the toe of Italy to Sicily.

I also remember reading that, but it seems the force using the ferry should control at least one of the ports on either side. In this case the British controlled neither and yet they simply stroll across the water without concern... lol

Those are British Commandos. They can do anything!

I think we need a special visual cue to show why they can move here. Maybe a symbol or special map tile - if it is working as intended.

I thought in the original PG, that you had to own both cities in order to cross there. I imagine it was to imitate the need to use a ferry to get across. If you only had one of the cities, you then had to use paratroopers and/or naval transports to make an assault and try to gain possession of both cities. From what I can see in this picture, the Axis has both cities, yet the British troop was able to cross. Would it make more sense to have the old PG rule in place here?

We are looking at designing a special tile for land-sea crossings.

Instead of a special ferry to cross the straits ......use the landing craft you now have available in the game for ferrying.
