It certainly is. I'm on my 4th and 5th MP games at the moment, and I have cut down on its use. Spam the enemy with hordes of conscripts!!

(Not really spamming - you can't in this game  )

I've been wondering why my opponents seem to have trouble filling their core and keeping their prestige levels high, turns out a lot of them are using elite replacements.
Think of this as a PSA (Public Service Announcement)
Elite reinforcements are bad!

I'm genuinely curious how conscript spam will work on Urban Warfare in point of fact. Quite a few of my games so far have been pretty tank heavy....

WRONG !!!

Why?

Depends upon scenario and at times there is a reason to use it on one or more units.

But generally speaking..... I don't use it.

So you are 90% correct.

Honestly I rarely use elite reinforcements, even in the single-player game. A few times I've rebuilt core units that fall below half strength with elite forces... but this is more of a luxury one can afford in the campaign, when prestige is more plentiful. Can't say I've ever used elite in my multiplayer games... but then again, units under my command usually take a lot of casualties anyway, so I need to be as conservative as possible with my prestige!

I tend to go to the normal replacement button and hover the mouse over it to see what the unit's experience will drop to before I make a decision. In MP, though, it's rarely useful to use elite replacements, in my experience.

I only ever use Elite replacements in the campaign games. I find them a waste in multiplayer as the prestige disappears too quickly

Please, please, for the love of God & faith in the testers, tell me that was a typo and you really missed a decimal, etc. :P

99.90%

Actually I need to revive this and decrease this percentage.
Elite reinforcements are quite useful sometimes in multiplayer. Consider scenarios like Stalingrad. The soviet player can generally fight some rearguard actions and fall back behind the Volga. He still has on victory point to defend (Astrakhan, I believe) and there are only two passable points across Volga. If skilled, the soviet player can retreat enough units behind the river to form a contiguous line behind the river.
So in this case, the German player must assault the river with massive strength. In this particular scenario prestige is more than enough for the Axis to both elite reinforce AND to overstrength, giving him a much better chance to cross the Volga, despite hordes of cheap units + some KV-1Bs + arty + antiaircraft defend the line.

Regards,
Cristian
