I saw in a thread somewhere one of us testers has done a walkthrough write-up of the 1st tutorial mission - well done! I'm unable to find the thread again, though.

Anyway, I wanted to ask permission if I could do a gameplay video or walkthrough video, or just an introduction to the game, now that we are getting close to release.

I do videos and put them on YouTube - mostly for Men Of War (click on my signature pic below to get to my channel), and I would like to do something similar for Panzer Corps - especially I would like to do tutorials on the scenario editor.

I have to use Bandicam or Camtasia for it, though, because Panzer Corps won't work with Fraps for some reason (Fraps doesn't know it's running).

Anyway, if the devs can give me permission, I'd be very happy. Also, if anyone has any ideas for a tutorial or gameplay video, give me a shout!

Thanks for the offer. Once the beta is over you can do as many of these as you like.

For now we're trying to put together some official videos but we're working on scripting them show something specific so they are more structured. E.g. it might be in an AAR style showing bits of the invasion of Poland, telling the story as the troops push forwards and capture a city. Reinforcements arriving, upgrading. We haven't worked it out yet. The video would be overlaid with text telling the viewer key information and cut to keep each scene relatively short to maintain interest.

If you want to have a go at producing something let us see the final video and if fits what we are trying to show we can either agree to release before the game is out, or once the game is released you;re free to do anything anyway!

The other thing we'd love to see more of is AR's of games in progress. If anyone wants to do those that would be great!

I have a few ideas of what I want to do and how I want to do them. There would be text overlays and arrows to show [planned] movement, as well as zooming to specific parts of the map for close up action - you know, regular Camtasia stuff. I would probably use music, too, and maybe the in-game music might be best. I've already broken down the unit images into separate single-unit pictures, too, because I was thinking of doing something in Flash with a regular game map as the background, and the units moving around on it, and using the in-game special effects and sound effects.

There is actually a lot that could be done!

We have a week or two left, so I'll put something together, then upload as private to YouTube and invite you to come and have a look first.

Sounds like it could be interesting. The only recording I've done so far is very basic with no fancy edits. Mostly to document bugs and stuff like that.
