Take special note of the size of the map, and how game play is altered when fought on this scale. Armored units control the streets, but all the objectives are located within 'buildings' so infantry are very important.

As you can see there are armored units fighting on 17th Avenue and E Street (the streets have all been named, albeit with simple names).
Artillery support units driving down paved streets.
Infantry sprinting from the cover of an 'apartment' building to the relative safety of a 'police station' building across the street (don't want to be caught in the open ;) ).

Plus you get to see the full animation of the image everyone is constantly telling me to take out of my 'official' screenshots, editor guide, and AARs. lol

Looking forward to playing this map with everyone, and I hope you all enjoy it too once it's released!

Perhaps one day we'll even have a special equip file or 'mod' for this sort of game play. Tanks with gun range so they can fire all the way down a street, but this ranged attack follows the rules of LOS and cannot fire through 'buildings'. Exciting!

I tried to watch the preview of your scenario, Kerensky, but all I saw was your avatart bouncing up and down LOL...

Seriously though, that looks like a cracking good map. I assume it will be part of the final release?

Looks cool i want to play it! :-) Is this map an fictive Berlin 1946 UdSSR against USA?

This style could be also very interesting for a Stalingrad Map i think ... :-)

By the way your ISD looks fine i never seen them as 3d puzzles i only knew the plastic models ...

Well I did start a Battle for Berlin scenario, but I ended up abandoning it for this 'fictional' city which gave me greater creative flexibility. It is Western Allies vs Soviet Union with very late war equipment though. Wouldn't be a Panzer General type game without at least one Cold War type scenario. :)

I really like the idea, because in every PG Gmae the Stalingrad map was no real urban map ... i think this could be very interesting :-)

Kerensky, why not have a separate "Tactical Scale Editor", with giant sized maps, and actual buildings in scale with the units. You could build your own town with streets, parks, rubble, chose your forces and have at it. Like a turn based Company of Heroes. Would work well with your firing range changes.

I'm not seeing the urban aspects

I'll be a detractor a bit on this one, the video just doesn't provide a sense of urban warfare, it could just as well be piles of gravel for all I can tell. I like the idea of a tactical scale editor if such a thing would work with the firing ranges and scale. This may as well just be another terrian type for all the flavor it provides. (Not that I don't love the game, it's very good)

I think that's fair to say, tanks will be driving right through 'buildings'. But just because they can doesn't mean it's a good idea, infantry are quite deadly in such terrain. ;)
It plays well, and quite differently, from 'normal' maps in our internal tests, and hopefully the map will prove to be an enjoyable alternative to more classic designs.
