Not sure how this is being handled yet as there has been some discussing in the forum. I would like to put my 2 cents in though about one issue i have about planes.
Now say you can fly 5 points see 5 okay you are searching so makes sense when you do a 6 strike range.
Well logic says if i can fly 5 spots into your territory i can fly 5 back. So in my own territory i should be able to move 10 total, see 5 total and strike range of 6.
I hope i explained this right.

Yes, movement range are greater than attack ranges but not exact double. One has to consider that speed and fuel capacity are 2 different things and that a air unit with a high fuel capacity has greater attack range while a air unit with high top speed tends to have greater movement.

im not sure if i explained it right, what you said is true. I know not all numbers are exact i just use it as an example.
The thing is if i can attack a unit 5 hexes away i have to fly 5 hexes back to base right. Well if im rebasing wont i be able to travel 10 spots to a friendly airfield.

ER...top speed has nothing to do with movement range - fuel capacity is everything. Typically an aircraft can travel much FURTHER than 2 x its radius if it is only going in one direction, because it uses economical cruise speed to do so - whereas a combat sortie will involve some gas-guzzling open-throttle time.
So movement radius should be MORE than 2 x attack radius.

i agree stalin just used x2 as a vague value. I am just hoping some thought will be put into this.
Air Range

It represents moving all of the logistics and support of an entire air flotilla, not just moving a couple of planes by ferry. It should perhaps be adjusted, but you can move far by using rail as an option, or you can also send air units by sea.

the logistics of moving air units are probably over-rated then.
WW2 air units were accompanied by minimal logistics by todays standards, and high rates of unserviceability were common - both because of this and because of the inherent problems in hte designs of the times.

then what about the ability to make airfields and use the idea of the longer move if a field is in range?

Personally, I agree that the movement ranges should be higher.
