Hi all,

I was trying to connect this evening and was unable to get online for multiplayer - 'failed to connect to server'. Has the server been down, or was it just me?

Also, I've been playing the France scenario in multiplayer, and my partner said to me, quite early on in the game, that he thinks it may be severely unbalanced, as I was getting my proverbial kicked as Germany almost from the very beginning. I told him that it's probably because I'm not very good at it, but it did seem a bit strange......

None of the single scenarios have been designed for multiplayer. They're meant to be human VS AI maps, which generally means one side has a pretty significant advantage over another.
Eventually we hope to convert some of these into better balanced multiplayer maps, but in the mean time, try out some of the Stock Multiplayer Maps.

These scenarios have been built from the ground up expressly for multiplayer play, so I encourage you to try them instead.
I personally recommend The Frozen North, because while Hunters and Huntress are nice departures from the normal PG structure, they're fairly complicated.

I didn't know that

Ah, thanks - I thought the single player scenarios had been converted for multiplayer. I guess I was wrong - having said that, in the multiplayer 'lobby', of challenges waiting to be accepted, I see the vast majority are of single player scenarios, so it may be that I am not alone in thinking this.

Is there any way to play any of the scenarios as both sides, by the way?

Really? That list of challenges waiting to be excepted is blank for me.
As it is, I'm currently playing quite a few games, almost all of them are the special MP maps.

From the comments people have been leaving, the special maps have gotten some quite positive responses.
