I'm taking Early Imperial Romans straight from the booklet of army lists for beta testers. No allies, just a fairly typical composition.
I'm also frantically praying that my Equites Sagitarii will be waiting for me at the office on Monday.

Might it also be an idea to post how many games we've played so that the pairings can be arranged?

I've played about 8-10.

Looks like I'm taking Nikephorian Byzantine after my Foederate Roman disaster last night!

I have played the grand total of 1 game.

Neo-Assyrian - heavy chariots and mixed foot BG's
Navarese - Kinghts and archers
Libyan - Massed junk
Later Hungarian - Light horse and knights

I am being clever and bringing a different army each day.

Scots Conmen on Saturday
Skythian on Sunday

The Scots is to test the spearwall tactic - it is not particularly subtle nor clever, but is a big long line of spear.

I'm bringing Scots Isles,to test out the Highlanders Impact foot,Bow*,Swordsmen,if I read things correctly that means a CMT test to charge and one not to charge, not bad with someone of my dice throwing standards.
Lynda is bringing Palmyran, quite big compared to the DBM version
David
PS no games yet, definately one Monday and hopefully another in the week, unfortunately we are away this weekend

No, only not to charge. The test for Bows etc. to charge only applies to non-shock foot.

I'm bringing an Early Archaemenid Persian army, lots of spear and bow.
I've played 12+ games, mainly with Richard.

I'm taking Later Hungarian, was toying with Kushan but went with the prettier toys in the end, part of me is now wishing I'd taken the Kushans so as to be individual (and be able to blame the army if I bomb:).

I've never really got this army to work under DBM though I understand it used to be quite the favourite so I'll be interested to see how it fares under AoW.

Hmm,

I put up a list of armies I was considering might be needed to fill holes and all of them (appart from Navarese) are being taken :?

I can't now do a Navarese anyway because I am lening out my longbowmen ...

The last list I put together was a later Hungarian and I may well still go with them but if anyone can suggest an alternative that needs to be filled let me know.

I would do a later hoplite Greek but I don't really have enough spearmen (now where did I put Jez's phine number) :)

If nobody is using a massed spear army there really ought to be one present.

I am happy to work one out (I think I may actually have one anyway) if nobody else is bringing one.

I will probably need some extra light foot too as most of my classical light foot are in other peoples armies :)

Well i'm taking Later Carthaginian but pre 235BC so will be fielding 5 x 8 man battlegroupds of Hoplites so a partial spearwall at least.

Cheers

OK, if I used Greek it would probably only have 7 BG's of 8 spear so not that different.

From a game test point of view.....

It would be good to have an army of lots of Arm spearmen - I am assuming Andy's are protected.

So perhaps an armoured Hoplite version from the aerly period of the classical greek list? I can do the light troops as well I expect.
