Why did you remove the prestige gain for killing units?

This was one of the best features of the game.

To gain better balance of the game regarding prestige and to have more freedom to manipulate with costs of units.

i hope gaining prestige for unit killing will be again implemented later ... cause it was motivating and helped to build an elite core army ... and it was logical ... :-)

Without finishing all the balancing work, I don´t think it´s such a deep impact for the gameplay. Maybe later with game release?

Yea there was a problem where you could milk extremely expensive units for massive bonus prestige (especially naval ships)
This will most likely be a feature and a customizable one at that down the road, but for now its taking a back seat to enable better overall game balance and price tuning.

How is experience impacted? Will killing a Tiger or carrier give the destroying unit higher experience than killing, say, a scout car or conscript unit?

It impacts me when I play the Allies, especially during those early scenarios. That was the only descernable source of "income" for repleneshing any unit losses (albiet, it wasn't much, but I could use all I got) and replacements.

Please bring it back??!!

Cities

You took away the Prestige for capturing cities.

If you own a city and the enemy captures it... and then you re-take it, your prestige bonus is gone.

This really is a game breaker.

There is no incentive to recapture cities and completely screws with the balance of the game.

I always found the PG system of prestige in regard to point-hexes silly. It should be based on a turn-by-turn bases. Capturing a city, and then not worrying about it being re-taken because you don't lose prestige once you've gained it didn't quite make sense to me.

I suppose the Germans should have abandoned France after they beat down the big bad guy, because they've already got their world-prestige now, and could have used the units in the east instead. Come on...

No that's not quite how it works.
Each city can only be worth prestige once per player. Any re-captures after that are worth nothing.
So if you start with it, you can only recapture it once for prestige. If your enemy starts with it, you can only get prestige for the first capture and not for any recaptures.

thats the problem. Doesn't work.

Allies own Bastonge.

Germans took it over.

I captured it and got Zero bonus

The stock maps don't show this erroneous behavior, they work precisely as I described. I don't know what else to tell you. :?

If you have a saved game for that, please send it to me at rudankort@rsdn.ru, I'll check.

What's wrong with that? Commanders do it all the time? If you make yourself look good in the General Staffs eyes, you get more out of it. It seems quite normal to me. I hope it returns!!!

And without gaining Prestige for killing it is extremly hard to play the "43 West Camp" ... hope also it comes back with the next version

Removing prestige for killing units is causing me problems in some scenarios -- particularly, those scenarios where the player is on the defensive. I've found that playing such scenarios (such as Kerensky's Russians vs. Italians map), the loss of prestige is not overcome easily because you are only trying to destroy enemy units and not capture cities. As a result I am not receiving prestige in sufficient amounts to cover my losses. My goal is to destroy the enemy and deny him my cities, but this is very hard without the prestige award for killing units. PLEASE reconsider bringing back prestige for unit destruction, at least in scenarios such as this! :(

Prestige per turn should play more important role in replacing losses during scenario.
For now that aspect is not used enough and it requires rebalancing.
Removing prestige for killing units is good considering changes in unit pricing and it only takes using and rebalancing mechanism of prestige per turn which is available for attacker and defender.
