How useful do you find minimap? For what purposes do you use it?

Is there anything to improve here?

I do not use it. I tend to use the next unit button to find units I did not use during turns. I find the mini map not very helpful, I think either the size or the color of the units on it should be changed.

If units that had not moved blinked it would be more useful.

I don't use it.
I would rather have the stats panel in its place and have the minimap activated by toggle instead.

I like the minimap. THe only additional function I would consider with it is to be able to drag the viewbox around the minimap and have that reflected in the main map in real time.

Are you talking about the strategic map, or the small map that appears on the right side of the screen?

That would greatly enhance my understanding of the overall picture. Also, if the programers could show the path for any highlited unit, similar to when you scroll out?

Not the zoom out. The mini map.

Be nice if there was a stronger visual difference between units and cities. Both are currently just circles, or maybe units are squares, but either way they are very similar.

Thanks Razz. I actually think the mini-map has gotten better. I wish it could be a little bigger (sorry to be a broken record), and it would be nice to click on it and immediately move to that part of the main map. Otherwise, it does a decent job, though I find myself using the zoom-out map more because it's bigger.

Yes, thanks. I was thinking of the zoom out version. I would like to see blinkies on the minimap, but can you make them small enough to discern individual units? I would like the blinking either way of course, but I'm not sure how small a pixel you can make blink and still see it.

But clicking the minimap does center the main map on the hex clicked.

Really? I thought I tried that and nothing happened. When I get back into the game I'll have to check that out.

That is the best part of the mini map. I do like the idea of blinking of still active units, changing color of units would also be good. Making the map movable and resizable would make the map much better.
