Stutteringin animations

I was playing the France 1940 in Campaign mode last night and during attacks made by the German in the south center of the map I noticed the animation ofr the rifle blasts were "stuttering" and about a quarter second behind the sound. It happened for three seperate attacks on three different cities. I have a fast computer with a half gig dedicated video RAM, and all other aspects of the game are smooth as silk and fast.

I'll be on it again tonight, I'll let you know if this repeats or is just an anomily. I'll replay the scenario in scenario mode as well.

Also, on an unrelated note, is there a spell checker in this forum software?

Its almost certainly realted to something else happening on your PC. E.g. a backup, downloading e-mail, virus checker etc. If its happens constantly try turning off other applicatiosn when playing.

I wasn't running any "up front" programs. The virus software is Norton Security Suite, which is always on. I also leave my sidebar on (Vista Home Premium). Plus the quicklaunch stuff on the bottom of my desktop, again, those are always there.

PzC runs very fast and smooth, I'm very happy with it's quickness and clarity. The stutter has not recured as yet. Of course, I'll do that scenario a few more times to be sure.

Bummer, I hate playing fun scenarios. . . .

I assume you're talking about infantry attacks stuttering, not all units, correct?

That's correct, one was a generic INF, one was a Pionere and one was a Grenadere.

That's not game stuttering, those are alternate attack animations and sound effects. Stand by for demonstration. Better yet, while I'm putting this together, open your PzC folder to the sound directory, (for me it's to C:\Games\Panzer Corps Beta\Panzer Corps\Audio\AttackSfx)

Load Infantry1 sound file in a program like winamp.
Load Infantry 2 sound file in a program like winamp. Sounds like stuttering to me.

For the record, I don't like them because they sound and look like stuttering, I was happy when there was just Infantry1 without the two alternatives.

Are you satisfied this explains the behavior you're experiencing, or is it something else entirely?

I actually like the second sound as it is realistic.

You fire a machine gun in short spurts.

For some reason, the animation of fire of defending infantry looks strange for me. I noticed it in game and here - on this video - as well - the fire stays for too long.
It would be better if it blinked once or twice.

No No... that is WAD. Animations depend upon damage. When you do allot of damage there is a bigger explosion sound and fire. IT's great!

Please pay attention to this... I think you will like it very much.

If thats the answer to my post, then that is not the thing that I am talking about :P . And yes, I noticed that the explosion depends on damage dealt :) .

Look at the animation. German infantry starts shotting, then this "fire from Polish rifle" appears. The other guys in defending team do not shot, only this one is visible - for quite long time (this guy doesn't have machine gun, so it looks very weird, imho).
