Suppression in 0,98 lifted after one attack

When an enemy unit is Suppressed its strength changes color to yellow or red. After the unit is then attacked for the first time the strength color changes back to white after taking losses (or not taking losses). Is the unit still suppressed and is it a graphical error or do the men feel less suppressed after a bit of fighting and is the color correct? I haven't tested it enough but the combat results after the suppression color changes back to white seems to point in the direction of not being suppressed anymore. Off course this all happens in a single turn.

It seems the designers wanted to get rid of long-lasting suppression.

Yes this is by design. No longer will troops permanently cower in fear after a single barrage. Individual unit commanders have been rushed through leadership training, and they've learned to 'rally' their troops after encounters with enemy units. That is if there are any troops left to rally, anyways.

I get it, when they had the chance to fight again against a visible opponent it gets the adrenaline pumping and the fighting spirit returns (to does who survived).

Plus from a game play standpoint, permanent suppression was too crippling. You could neuter a high experience unit with one or two shots and they would be completely helpless against potentially infinite follow up attacks.

I second that and think it is implemented well. And now I know it's meant to be the way it is, good choice.
