The idea of transport via railroad is great!!! But i dont understand why infanry units cant disembark on the road???

- For mechanic units like Tanks or Artillery it make sense to use Citys with railroad stations but infantry should be able to disembark every where?!

- Is there something planned to implement Armored Trains and Anti Air Trains?

would be a nice addition to the artillery train :-)

I am thinking there are two reasons why inf can't just disembark anywhere:

1--for the game it would make it to easy to capture far objectives

2--the reality is that any fighting unit has more than just foot soldiers that "just jump off a train" there would be a whole logistics system that goes along with the front line fighters that need to be properly organized (kitchens, supply, field hospital, fuel, vehicles etc)

In Poland scenario, I embarked soldiers on a train, then disembarked them without moving them out of the hex. That wiped out the movement. Didn't seem right to penalize for embarking on a train just to see where it might go and then immediately disembarking.

I went back to the first unit, which had not yet moved, and found that it no longer had any movement left. Apparently switching the train embarkation on and off and briefly selecting another unit canceled movement.
