Initial Impressions : 30 seconds & 5 minutes

First off, thanks for letting me beta test and give my feedback.
Setup:
Windows 7 Pro 32 Bit O.S.
Pent. Dual Core E5300@2.60GHz
4 Gb RAM Intel G33/G31 Chipset
Initial Impressions : 30 seconds & 5 minutes
Download & installation were straight forward and simple, as was starting game.
Opening credits and start screen crisp & impressive.
Having played Panzer General, the click and move was natural for me but the original game was
quite a while ago and I'd forgotten lots of it.
Graphics are good, as a wargamer eye candy is not as important to me as functionality, so it's
important to be any to see relevent information easliy and quickly, which I can.
Maps look good but perhaps you could have different tiles/artwork for the same terrian to break
up the repetitive look to large areas of similar features, hills and forest in particular.
Rivers could be a little wider, they look very easy to cross.
Game speed is very fast, too fast regards unit movement but this may change in the larger
scenerios.
A list of the hotkeys should be accessible from within the game/map sreen.
One of things that bothered me about the origanal game was it's lack of a consistant scale,
are the units battalions, regiments or divisions ? Maybe an alternative grapic of say 5 small tanks
to repesent the unit (decreasing to 4 as 2 strength points were lost, decreasing to 3 with lost of 4
points etc.) would convey the idea that it is more than 1 individual tank.
These ideas are based on my first few minutes of play and maybe invalidated as I get to the larger scenerios,
will keep you posted as I get deeper into the game.
First impressions are good.
