Select unit - press D hotkey - confirm.

Rud--I tried to dismiss again in the deployment screen. it gave the confirmation box, which i agreed to and the unit remained and did not delete.

At the moment it will not. Disbanded unit just goes away. But we may still change this.

thanks--i would vote for it to be put back in the total--it allows for some specialty units for certain scenarios without the fear of, for example being stuck with a naval bomber throughout the russian campaign

that's what happend to me. in the norway campain i bought 3 bombers to help sink the british fleet. they carried over to france and they were of no use. disbanded and saw no return to force pool. that sucked lol.
