Thanks for the invite - early comments.....
30 seconds
• Very quick install – less than a minute
• Quick load – just about the right time with promo logos
5 minutes
• Love using the mouse wheel for zooming, but would like more levels of zoom rather than just two (strategic & toggle)
• Turned the in-scenario music off after 1st tutorial but I always have done that
• I’m assuming in the released game there will be description text for each scenario as in PG2
15 minutes
• All the look and feel of PG2. Easy to pick up. If you’ve played and loved PG2 it’s great
1 hour.
• Can you rollover and move again if you defeat an enemy
• The white square around the active unit is not always easy to see straight away when “next unit” is selected
• Not sure I agree with being able to purchase and deploy units after the start of a scenario. Dropping a unit in out of nowhere is odd. Perhaps a reinforcement hex on the edge of the map would be better
• Can I toggle labels for town names?
• I like the use of counters rather than sprites in the strategic view. Didn't always happen though at turn end. Can this be optional?
• Does every objective have to be occupied by a unit for victory? Why can’t you win it and then move on
Performance
• Very, almost too quick. An option to slow movement down so you can see it would be nice
• Spec: Windows 7 - 64bit Home Premium, Intel Quad Core Q9550 2.83GHz, 8GB RAM, 128GB Vertex2SSD
Started to mess about with the scenario editor.
• Intuitive
• Took me a few minutes to work out how to save edits. Had to change security permissions.
• Nice that it defaults to the last edit
• Imported a “pad image” easily – very cool
• Started a 500x500 map! Is there a size limit?
