The game starts up and asks me if I want to update. I select yes, but the window just closes and kicks me out of the game without performing the update. I have tried many times, with the same result. It is the Matrix version, not sure if that matters. Any chance a standalone update is available somewhere?

Pip is working on a standalone update.

Chances are it is your firewall or antvirus preventing the updater from connecting to the internet. See if you can figure out how to allow updater.exe to run.

please let me know if u get it bworking as I am having a firewall issue that I cannot resolve

What is interesting is I have been able to update in the past without issues, unless something has changed with the updated where my AV no longer likes it. Also, usually when my AV doesn't like something, I get some kind of message or error, but in this case, window just closes.
