I have used autoupdate to 1.5.4 and now BA won't run. I first get a version mismatch error, then Unhandled Exception ExpCode 0x80000003 ExpFlags:0 ExpAddress: 0x772C884E. I did a full reinstall and am still getting the same result.

Please let me know the content of the CORE\V.TXT file in your non-working install.

I had the same problem. solved it by uninstalling the game. Deleted the BA folder in documents/my games. Reinstalled the game to the default Dir, applied the stand alone 1.5.1 patch then did a auto patch to 1.5.3/1.5.4. worked as advertised. I think the problem was I had the game installed in a dir other than the default dir. hope this helps you. see ya in another game sometime.

Thanks for the info. My guess is that the game isn't exiting before the updater is trying to start - which shouldn't be possible as there is a check.

Nonetheless, you can grab the 1.5.4 data from

http://www.slitherine.com/files/bbc_ba/BA_154.zip

simply unzip into your install folder and you should be running fine (you will still need to update to 1.5.3 before applying this). We will hopefully get a full 1.5.4 installer out asap, but this is to get people up and running immediately.
