(This example GIF is optimised for Mozilla Firefox, so it may look a bit distorted in Internet Explorer)

Ah i see, yeah this will help to NOT miss the classic battle scenes of pg1.
That is if all units are animated like this...

It would be cool if the troops had some animations too, like guys throwing grenades and opening up with their MGs but i'll have to wait and see

All units/unitclasses will have custom special sound and graphic effects...
So Stuka will be a screaming dive bomber, German Infantry will see and hear Mauser/MP firing etc...

Sounds like feedback has been universally positive, maybe we should start taking requests and make a few more?

I like it, very much! It is the perfect compromise. I liked the battle animations in Panzer General, but after some time I turned them off, because they were too time-consuming. With this, I get my battle results quickly, and can still enjoy the show.

You know that saying: "Friend don't let friends drive drunk?"
Well this is: "Nebelwerfers don't let Nebelwerfers get overrun by Shermans."
Wurfrahmen and Nebelwerfer... we just love them. LOL
P.S. Optimised for Firefox

Wonderful! I believe the Sherman doesn't have any chance to survive.

Animations are wonderful, and might I add that the sound effects are also, especially with headphones and volume cranked up!

So this game came at me from out of nowhere as I was lurking Gamespot and I have been courting it ever since. I've been playing games like this since PG1 and AG. One thing that I was hoping for that I'm not finding is the Allied General style animations where you see two circles pop up and the units engaging and blowing each other up with greater detail. Is that a possible addition that I would be able to look forward to or is it going to be strictly a Panzer General affair with map-only effects? I absolutely never turned off that function and playing AG for hours on end watching turrets get popped off of tanks, bombers dropping dozens of bombs, and capital ships annihilating with their main guns. It really added something rewarding to combat as opposed to generic explosions on the hex map.

It's not something we've seen requested to be honest so unless there is a huge amount of support such a graphics heavy and time intensive feature is probably not going to happen. People seem happy with the map animations as a replacement. While I can see the appeal it would be a huge amount of work - probably about the same as creating the first expansion!
