First Thoughts

I should start off by saying I have very little Panzer General experience so this is mostly new to me. Also, I apologize in advance for this post being a little unorganized.
My first impression after starting the game was that the graphics looked great! The map was big and the text was small as my screen resolution is set to 1920x1080. I didn't see any way to change the screen resolution in the options menu. That would have been a nice option. I hit 'exit' and went back to Windows to change the resolution to 1024x768 (which I hate to do as it makes a mess of my icons). That made things a little easier to see for me. I played through the first scenario in the Tutorial Campaign. I'm happy to report that the game is very intuitive and easy to learn. I was confused that I couldn't buy any units. The 'Purchase' button was grayed out and it would have been nice if hovering over it with the mouse provided a tooltip explaining why.
I liked the game interface. The layout made sense and items were easy to find.
One thing that would add atmosphere to the game is terrain 'battle damage'. After a battle I expected to see some small craters and/or smoke on the map but was disappointed that didn't happen.
When moving units I didn't like how I lost remaining movement points if I stopped the unit short of it's maximum range.
Game performance was fine. The only option that I might miss would be speeding up battle resolution a little. I loved the explosions!
I'll have more later when I've spent more time with the game. So far I like it a lot!
