Just fired it up and a question. I may not have read something vital, but in the first tutorial, shouldn't there be some instructions? I don't see a manual.

Sorry if I missed something.

Graphics look fine, everything running well so far on my Windows 7 64-bit desktop. I think tooltips would be very helpful when hovering over the different attributes of a unit. I'm assuming sound is not yet fully implemented as their are infantry sounds for tanks, etc.

Can something be changed to not make it so easy to accidentally move a unit? I know there is an undo button, but I don't recall it being so easy to make such a mistake in the Panzer General games. Secondly, the AI combat moves way too fast, leaving me with little idea of what actually happened.

Hi lauter11, welcome to the Panzer Corps Beta!

The manual has not yet been written, but can you be more specific? What exactly do you mean by 'instructions'? The absolutely bare bone basics of "Left Click unit to select it." and "Right Click on the map to move a unit after you selected it."

Items such as this will absolutely be included in the near future, but we also plan to improve the tutorial as well. For example, we plan to add-pop up text dialogues to assist new players for the first time the encounter a new situation.

Are you struggling with the change to a Right Click interface from previous PG titles which was Left Click based? This change was made to solve several issues, but also to conform Panzer Corps to behave in a manner more fitting other moderns games, even if this method differs from previous PG titles.

We firmly believe that the new right click structure is superior in form and function(but it does take a little getting used to). We may include an option for players too uncomfortable with this format to revert to the old scheme though, if it becomes too much of a problem.

That is good to hear. I could figure out the movement commands eventually, but how about explaining quickly in the tutorial where to find different options and information, i.e., this area includes buttons for purchasing units, moving to next unit, ending turn, etc.

Yes, that was the problem initially. Eventually, I got used to it, but a simple instruction in the tutorial would save a lot of frustration for us old PG fans. :)

And again, I would like to see a little more time spent on the AI combat so I can actually see what is happening to my units.

Another minor fluff thing...perhaps a sound or recognition that you captured an objective. Not very satisfying as is.

Thanks, looks like a winner so far.

Good point, we should describe mouse interface at the beginning of the tutorial.

Nice idea btw.

Thanks. Speaking of objectives, there doesn't appear to be any symbol for ownership of such locations on the strategic map. I'd like to be able to see this when looking at the overall view.
