How many dice does one get when shooting to the flank? Is there a page where that is described?

1st para Pg 108 later terio shot can fire from their front or flank edge, # of dice per pg 116, so usually 1 per base at short. 1/2 at long

Thanks Steve. I had read both of those, but I still don't know. Do the LT shoot three dice to the side at short range?

They get 3 dice at close range and 1 die at long range.

I can believe that, but why do you think that? Is there a page number reference?

Somewhere in the tercio rules it states that you treat their side edge as their front edge for shooting purposes, was also brought up in the forums shortly after release. So if you have 3 bases of shot in a front horn, they shoot as 3 bases to the front and the side. After that it all depends on range, so 1 die per at short and 1 per 2 at long.
In the case of a 3 base horn 3 dice for short and 1 for long
Page 108 first bullet: Early Tercio shot can shoot from their front, flank or rear edge and later tercio shot from their front or flank edge, treating the shooting edge as their front edge

Here is RBS's explanation:
"I understand your logic, but your interpretation is based on the unwarranted assumption that the rules require the shot sleeve to behave as if the bases were physically turned sideways to shoot. They don't.
The file counts as the front rank when shooting to the flank, each base treats its side edge as its front edge (see P.108, Arc of Fire). The file counts as the front rank, there are thus 3 bases in the "front rank", each counting its side edge as its front edge, thus 3 bases can shoot. At close range that means 3 dice.
This is the intent of the rule, and it is what the rules say.
Another one for the FAQ, however, if people are having difficulty with it."
