Game does not run

Hi,
I installed the game without any problems. I got to the first screen and registered as suggested. All fine. Then, I clicked "OK", first screen dissapeared...and nothing happens...
The game seems to be working in the background (it appears as a running process in the windows administrator), but the only thing I can see is the desktop
Any suggestions?

This sounds like a serious problem. What will happen if you go to the game's installation folder and try to run PanzerCorps.exe file manually?

So far, I haven't been able to figure what goes wrong. My computer is an AMD 64 running on Windows XP SP2. I nevertheless installed the game on my laptop and started playing the game on it.

It's good you have a backup solution. However, the problem with the game not running on your primary PC is something we definitely want to fix before the release. This is really a poor experience for any prospective player. So, can you provide any details on this issue? As a start, two things would be useful:
- Try to run game's EXE, PanzerCorps.exe, directly from installation folder (typically %Program Files%\Slitherine\Panzer Corps)
- Send me game's log file after it fails to start. Log file is %My Documents%\My Games\Panzer Corps\Log\log.txt. You can send the file directly to me email:
rudankort@rsdn.ru.
Thanks in advance for any help with this.

The thing is that I can get into the main screen if I click on "panzer_launcher.exe", or I get into the scenario editor if I go to "scenarioeditor.exe"...yet it does not work if I try to open "PanzerCorps.exe". It seems it's running somewhere in the background. Windows task manager shows the .exe program running under the "processes" tab (it is not seen under "applications" though). Strikingly, it uses 50% of the CPU...I guess this is not normal.
(I've sent more stuff on this to your email)

It sounds to me that you did not install as administrator.
Either way.. works fine on lap top but not on PC... uninstall and re-install.
Why does it work the second time? Don't ask me but a re-install works most of the time.

Well, I have done many things...and still does not work!!
Things I've done so far:
1) Uninstall and reinstall
2) Run the program under different screen resolutions
3) Close other programs that may interfere (anti-virus, firewalls, etc)
4) check whether other programs do not run (all other programs I have, including games, run perfectly)
Sad

If you right click on the installed folder what are the properties? File size & number of files? Maybe something is preventing it installing. AV programs can do this - especially things like Norton/Sonar etc.
