What level do units represent?

I'm guessing regiments (consistent with a Corps command) but ground scale is large enough for Brigades or divisions.

There is no any particular scale neither in maps neither in units.

Considering area covered by some scens it could be divisional to corps scale, lower for some scenarios because how you progress trough campaign your number of units increases
but that is not consistent with what in reality happened or simply because some interesting operations had less units involved.

Ok. That makes some sense.

This is one of the main reasons I go more by how it feels that by the science of warfare. If the scale floats but the stats remain constant then it is imperative that the weapons being fielded generate what the general (looking 2 levels down by doctrine) would assume he/she can or cannot do. One of the reasons defensive fire from artillery needs to be correctly apportioned etc. Did make me think though that perhaps there needs to be a mechanism that allows suppression or casualties. Studies released after the war showed that 8 to 14 percent of western allied casualties were caused by friendly artillery fire - yet we never actually see that in game. Should we? Maybe it is simply a factor we leave to enemy fire as a "result" vice a direct action/reaction.
