Hello foggers,

imagine that u are in column with a mixed BG in that order from front to rear: MF/LF/MF/MF/LF/....

(i) can you rearange urself without making a move? like sending the LF in third rank: MF/MF/LF......
(ii) if charged on front, at the following manoeuvre phase, can you rearange that LF and send it in third rank: MF/MF/LF......
and subsequent consequence: if you loose a base in combat, who comes in front to fight?

Fogly urs

i) I think I'm right in saying (haven't got the rules to hand at the moment to check) that you cannot rearrage the bases in a BG without making some sort of move that allows you to do so - probably either turning or expanding in this case.

ii) No. But it often will not matter. The LF in the second rank still contributes one dice to combat at the same POAs as the front rank. (If it is spear/pike it can be an issue, as you would lose the depth POA bonus.) If you lose a front-rank base, you can replace it from one of the rear ranks, so would obviously choose to put another MF in front.

But perhaps you would be better to make sure that when you go into column you do not put LF into the second rank to start with ;)
