So an enemy unit has a legal flank charge on the artillery but not the supporting infantry.

Do the infantry count as threatened flank?
If the enemy flank charge the artillery, I presume the infantry acts as it is in that position, thus receiving the flank charge and all the joy thereof.


We assumed not on threatened flank, but yes the infantry receives the charges as if it was where the guns were.

A rear supporting battlegroup counts it's front edge as at the position of the front edge of the artillery. So if you have a legal flank attack on the artillery you will also have one on the infantry. So they will have a threaterned flank if they are allowed to have one by that method (not a tercio or kiel). So yes they get all the joy.

Unless the guns have fortifications covering their flank - in which case, please note, the foot (if 2 bases deep) are also flank-protected even though they don't look as if they are.
