feeding bases by sliding over

Had a game tonight. Opponent had stepped forward on router, who then disaapeared in JAP phase. When it came time to feed bases in, should I slide over inspite of stepped forward position. We played yes as it seemed sensible, but is it explicit in rules or FAQ?

C being enemy Cav and 1 and 2 being friendly Pike and shot. So the two middle "C" bases were stepped forward. We played it that both slide over as feeding bases in.

Weird. Seems reasonable, but certainly not explicit in the rules, and there is no FAQ as yet.

CAVALRY ???????????????????????????????????

They were Polish Winged Hussars and Determined Horse !! Ok strictly speaking they were Bulgars & Alans until I get the figures delivered etc etc.. but you know what I meant. lol

The other question was...

What happens if a supported artillery bg is charged in the flank ? Does this count as a flank charge on the foot supporting it, or if the bg is only behind the artillery flank and not the foot is it a frontal charge on the supporting foot ?
