BAYOU WARS XIX
JUNE 10-12, 2011
Bayou Wars XIX is hosting the 2011 Field of Glory U.S. Open Tournament, which also coincides with the final tournament of the 2010-2011 Gulf South Championship.
This premier event will be held at the Doubletree Hotel (Formerly Radisson Hotel), 2150 Veterans Blvd, Kenner, LA 70062.
This location is the hotel we used last year. It is not the old Quality Inn located in Metairie, LA that has previously hosted Bayou Wars.
Costs for the Bayou Wars convention and U.S. Open FOG Tournament is $35.00.
Room rates are $79.00 per night. Please be aware that a number of rooms are already blocked for various airline accounts, so do not wait until June to make your reservations.
You must call the local number (504) 467-3111 and mention Bayou Wars to get this rate. If you call the 800 number for the Doubletree, you will not get this rate.
The tournament details are as follows:
15mm Open Tournament, 1 list, 800 points, any army book available. The Austin Team Event “Pistol Start” will be used. All games will be 3.5 hours plus 2-12 minutes of random time. When time over is declared, the phase that is currently being played will be completed.
5 rounds, with the following start times.
Friday, June 10th
Round 1 2:00 p.m.
Round 2 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 11th
Round 3 8:00 a.m.
Round 4 2:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 12th
Round 5 8:00 a.m.
All army lists, with order of march indicated, will be sent to Hilton McManus at hilton@admin1s.com no later than midnight June 6, 2011.
Also, the following will be offered for anyone who wants to play different
armies during the tournament.
If you have lost (not losing draws, your army must have given the 5 bonus points
to your opponent) at least two games with your initial army, you can switch to
another army. Thereafter, you can use a different army in any round. You must
make this decision before the draw is completed for the upcoming round.
If you plan on using multiple armies, all army lists must be submitted for list
checking. If any players who are traveling via air and are worried about
traveling with multiple armies, but want to use an additional army, please let
me know, as I can provide a couple of options.
Looking forward to seeing everyone
