Flank Charge Rule

One of the conditions for a flank charge listed on page 55 is, "The charging battle group starts with at least one base entirely behind...the enemy battle group."

Should this read "one front rank base"?

The text in the diagram boxes on page 57 uses the term "front rank base". Suppose the right hand cavalry BG had only two bases and the two bases covered by the 2MU measuring stick did not exist. The back base would qualify the BG for a legal flank charge using the text on page 55, but is not a front rank base and wouldn't qualify using the text in the diagram.

Thanks.

From the errata:

P.57 Diagram. Top right text box currently reads “Yes. This BG has one of its front rank bases entirely
behind the line and no part of its bases to the target’s front”

It should read: “Yes. This BG has at least one of its bases entirely behind the line and no part of any of its
bases to the target’s front."

So then, if I have a BG in a 1x6 column and am attacking an enemy BG from its flank at an angle such that my first and second rank bases are not completely behind the enemy Bg's extended front line -but- the third rank base of my column (and all those behind it) IS completely behind the line, this is a legal flank attack?

That seems a bit cheesy to me but I take your reply to mean the text on page 55 is correct and the text on page 57 has been amended to match it.

Thanks.
